Okay, so it’s been a few weeks since I’ve had a chance to posts, so thank you for your patience. But, I am very excited to share this recipe with you today! It’s one that will make your home smell A-Mazing! I mean, who doesn’t love the smell of freshly baked bread?
This is such an easy recipe to be able to throw together in just a few hours and I love that the ingredients are simple and healthy! My mother used to make this for our family all the time and I couldn’t wait for it to come out of the oven! In fact we all would gather round trying to grab a slice once my mother cut into it.
What I love about this recipe is that it is also very versatile. You can make it into three loaves (yes, I said “three”), or make two loaves and a small pan of rolls. Or more rolls and one loaf of bread. Sometimes my mother would also skip the second rise period for one of the loafs and make fried bread dough, because as children, we weren’t very patient when it came to food. So she would divide one loaf into 8-10 small pieces of dough, roll them out and fry them in a frying pan with some oil (almost like homemade tortillas). Then we would drizzle them with butter, honey or jam, and scarf them down (because as kids, scarf is really the best word to describe it). They were amazing!! And not much different than spreading butter onto your slice of bread (for those who may be judging the idea of frying bread dough in oil). So give it a try! You’ll love it! 😉

You never know what memories your children will take with them when they leave to start their own families. So glad my little baker has fond memories and is willing to express them and share them.
Love,

Briane
Can you put these in a loaf pan to bake?
My Homemade Heaven
Hi Briane,
I have not tried it using a loaf pan, but it should work just fine. Make sure to watch the time as a loaf pan heats up quicker so you probably won’t need as much time. Good luck and let me know how it goes! 🙂

What kind of yeast are you using? Active? Instant? Fresh?
My Homemade Heaven
Hi Jennifer, I use Active Dry Yeast. 🙂

Hi Ruth, yes grease pans or parchment paper will work! Thanks, I’ll double check the recipe to make sure that’s included! 🙂
