For many many years we have had a favorite Chocolate Chip Cookie recipe that we used. I’m sad to say, but happy to report, that we have finally found a far superior chocolate chip cookie recipe! It comes from sallysbakingaddiction.com and is absolutely delicious! I’ve made a few slight changes but I absolutely LOVE this recipe!
I like that this recipe has about half the amount of sugar as most other chocolate chip cookie recipes, and it holds it’s shape every time! Yes my friends, it’s the mark of the PERFECT cookie recipe! Enjoy!
- 3/4 cup (1 1/2 sticks) butter, softened
- 3/4 cup packed brown sugar
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 large egg
- 2 tsp vanilla
- 2 cups flour
- 2 tsp corn starch (I know it's strange, but it's the secret ingredient, and it works!)
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 3/4 cups chocolate chips
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- Prepare a greased cookie sheet, or use parchment paper on the cookie sheet.
- Blend all wet ingredients until moist.
- Mix all dry ingredients, then add to wet ingredients. Stir until combined (try not to over mix). Add chocolate chips.
- Shape into balls (about the size of a tablespoon) and place on prepared cookie sheet.
- Bake for 7-8 minutes (8 -10 minutes if you have put them in the fridge or freezer for any amount of time).
- Let cool on pan for 5 minutes before removing to parchment paper.
