Welcome to My Homemade Heaven! I’m so excited to have you visit! Baking and cooking from scratch has been a love of mine from the time I was a young girl. This blog is a compilation of my favorite recipes that I have created, found, or received from others.  I look forward to sharing them with you!

My name is Melani and I am the mother of three sweet and energetic boys and one beautiful little girl. I grew up in sunny California and received a teaching degree only to move to the chilly mountains of Utah to teach, complete a masters degree and meet my husband. I feel incredibly blessed to stay home and enjoy the adventures of our children and the disasters and successes of our kitchen endeavors. 

My goal in life is to be a great wife and mother and to encourage others to discover their dreams and reach their potential. I am a Christian, and am a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (some also know us as Mormons). You can learn more about our faith at lds.org or mormon.org. I remember one of my college professors telling us how in her culture, strong and meaningful relationships between family and friends are forged by sharing food and eating together. I hope to be able to do some of that here, by sharing recipes that you and your loved ones will enjoy and be able to make time and again. So please follow along and let’s make something amazing!
